Blue Belt and DJO Surgical Partner to Market Knee Implant

Blue Belt Technologies Inc. has partnered with DJO Surgical, a DJO Global company, to co-market the Epik unicompartmental knee system. Blue Belt makes robotic orthopedic surgical tools, and DJO Surgical makes joint arthroplasty products.

Blue Belt’s NavioPFS surgical system received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in December last year to perform unicondylar knee replacements. The companies hope to pair the robotic system with DJO’s Epik knee implant.

“We are excited to partner with Blue Belt Technologies to bring the Epik unicompartmental knee system to the NavioPFS surgical system,” said Bryan Monroe, senior vice president and general manager of DJO Surgical. “Blue Belt’s precision robotics solution, combined with our implant design, will further enable our surgeons to achieve accurate and repeatable results for their partial knee replacement patients.”
